How Es Started Up
The founder of Eyecoder, Mr Ndougou Abanda undertook the initiative to tackle the perspective distortions when he was still studying Architecture in the Technical University of Dresde in the late 80s and 90s. One of the classes he took was Descriptive Geometry in which students were taught to draw presentation images of projects using the linear perspective projection. Exploring extensively the benefits and drawbacks of that mapping method, Mr Abanda deepened his knowledge on the bother of distortions. He thought of ways to fix them. The efforts resulted in the release of a complex 3D application named Pers-Draw, an abbreviation of Perspective Drawings. The app was written in the back then very popular language Turbo-Pascal. It permitted to draw all types of perspective, be it one point-, two point- or three point-perspective, in a much easier manner.
It should be noted that the making of perspectives was a very laborious handwork in those days. Pers-Draw had been used with great satisfaction many times by the author himself as well as his fellow students in the faculty of architecture. After completion of his study and graduation, the Eyecoder founder started working professionally as architect and had to put his 3D CGI projects temporarily on ice. In the year 2010, he reconnected himself with the area of research in 3D computer graphics and hence decided to resume his projects. It turned out that the perspective distortions in 3D renderings and even in digital photography still represents a paramount issue that is worth to address. Pers-Draw, the solution that he developed when his his student wasn't perfect but contained seeds that have been further developed and extended to produce the solutions offered today by Eyecoder.
